A clean and modern European style boutique hotel. Sole East's main location is about 3 minutes from town with a pool, restaurant and garden. Their second location is across from the beach in town.
A more upscale option located on Lake Montauk, the Montauk Yacht Club has 106 waterfront rooms, a small private beach, a spa, pools and coastal Italian dining at Alba Spiaggia. It's a beautiful spot if you're looking for a more polished, resort-style stay while still being close to everything in Montauk.
We put together a few FAQs to help you figure out the best area and type of stay for your weekend in Montauk.
The easiest way to get to Montauk is by taking the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) from Grand Central or Penn Station. Train schedules are available on the MTA app. The Hampton Jitney bus is another great option. Once you arrive at the Montauk station (right in town!), you’ll find plenty of taxis and Ubers waiting to take you directly to your hotel.
If you’re flying into JFK, the easiest way to get to Montauk is by taking the AirTrain to Jamaica Station, where you can transfer to the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR). From there, take the train to Montauk. Train schedules are available on the MTA app. Once you arrive at the Montauk station (right in town!), you’ll find plenty of taxis and Ubers waiting to take you directly to your hotel.
There are two ways to get from Boston to Montauk.
If you would like to bring your car, you can take the car ferry from New London to Orient Point, NY. From Orient Point, it is about a 1¼-hour drive to Montauk. We recommend booking the Viking Ferry a few days in advance, especially during the summer. You can find the schedule here.
If you are not bringing a car, you can drive to New London and take the passenger ferry directly to Montauk. You can park your car overnight in New London and walk onto the ferry. The New London–Montauk ferry runs on Friday and Sunday nights only. You can find the schedule here. There are several dinning options steps away from the Montauk ferry. Check out our reccomendation page!

Honestly, there are no “bad” areas to stay in Montauk! Each spot has its own charm. If you’re looking for a more relaxed, local surf vibe, Ditch Plains is a great option. If you can find a house closer to town, that is also super convenient for being near restaurants, bars, and shops. Anything along Old Montauk Highway is a great choice if you want to enjoy the beach.
If the address is Montauk, you’ll be close to all the weekend activities!
Many Montauk Airbnb hosts do not open their calendars more than 6–12 months in advance, so you may not see many options available yet. We recommend checking back closer to the wedding date, as more homes will become available.
Come ready to relax! Swimsuits, cover-ups, sundresses, shorts, polos, linen shirts, sandals, and sneakers are all welcome. Don’t forget your swimsuit, if you plan to take a dip!
A dive in a sea of fancy, Montauket is our favorite spot for sunset drinks. Think casual outfits, khaki, linen shirts, maxi dresses, cute sets.
Formal attire. Suits with ties or tuxes; mid-length or long dresses. Guests are advised to wear footwear suitable for walking on grass.
Anything goes.
More on the ceremony, reception, transportation, and timing will be added here closer to the weekend.
